Seeing with Words: A Photo Tour for People Who See, Cannot See, and See Differently

At Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions 2026, Sota Namba, a person with a visual impairment, and exhibiting artist Tsurumaki Ikuko will co-facilitate a tour that brings together people who are sighted, blind, and have low vision to “look” at photographs through words. Participants will put into words what they notice and feel in response to the works, share these descriptions with one another, and experience how perspectives differ from person to person.

How to participate: Advance registration required (if applications exceed capacity, participants will be chosen by random drawing).
