Born in 1983 in Penang and based in Taipei. FAMEME is a designer and singer, also a descendant of a durian farming family, and an entrepreneur who critically explores the influencer phenomenon in Western social media and celebrity-generated cultural trends. As a “crazy rich Asian,” FAMEME promotes his family’s business, durian, the king of fruits, with a powerful smell. He also uses the durian as a symbol of his diasporic and queer identity, and as a motif for his creations, he engages in cross-cultural collaborations spanning diverse fields.
