YANAGISAWA Eisuke
Yanagisawa Eisuke, born in Tokyo, is a researcher of sound cultures and a field-recording artist. He completed graduate study at the Graduate School of Asian and African Area Studies, Kyoto University, and holds a PhD in Area Studies. He is currently a JSPS Research Fellow (RPD) as well as a visiting researcher at NTT EAST, Circular Society Innovation Institute, among other appointments. His field-recording works have been released on record labels in Japan and abroad. Major publications include Betonamu no daichi ni gongu ga hibiku (lit. “Gongs Resound across the Land of Vietnam”; Tokosha, 2019; 37th Tanabe Hisao Prize) and Introduction to Field Recording: Encountering the World in Resonance (Film Art, Inc., 2022; inaugural Ongaku Hon Taisho [lit. “Music Book Award”] and Dokusha Sho [lit. “Readers Prize”]), among others.
