Corry, a French woman dedicated to promoting organ transplantation in Japan, is tormented by a sense of helplessness as she confronts the gulf between Japanese and Western views on life, death, and ethics. When the condition of Hitomi, a young girl in hospital, suddenly takes a turn for the worse, her world is shaken. Framed by the themes of “forms of love” and “how lives are bound together,” the film braids a disappearance with the stark realities of heart transplantation into an intimate, quietly powerful story.
