The collections—documents and artworks—owned by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government are cared for by six metropolitan museums: Tokyo Metropolitan Edo-Tokyo Museum, Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum, Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum, and Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. This exhibition draws not only on works overseen by the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, but also, through the lens of “the contemporary and the historical,” presents a cross-section of works stewarded by these metropolitan museums as a way of opening up the overarching theme of the Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions 2026, あなたの音に｜日花聲音｜Polyphonic Voices Bathed in Sunlight. Arranged as a kind of relay, the works send out faint ripples of discrepancy and unease, bringing to light a multiplicity of ways of seeing.
