Led by Chang En-Man, an artist of Paiwan heritage, this workshop invites participants to “make your own cross-stitch,” drawing on embroidery techniques used in the traditional clothing of Taiwan’s Indigenous peoples. As you trace an imagined path with needle and thread, you will be “stitching” together histories and exploring how traditions can be carried forward into the future.
Participants will also taste cinavu, a traditional Paiwan dish served at important ceremonies, and experience Indigenous culture through both making and eating.
