Misawa Mamie is a faculty member in the Department of Chinese Language and Culture, College of Humanities and Sciences, Nihon University. Her research focuses on Taiwanese history and Chinese Cinema. Major publications include <i>“Teikoku” to “Sokoku” no Hazama</i> (lit. “Between ‘Empire’ and ‘Homeland’”; sole-authored; Iwanami Shoten, 2010), <i>Propaganda Films in Colonial Taiwan: Research on Newly Discovered Films</i> (edited volume; University of Tokyo Press, in cooperation with the National Museum of Taiwan History, 2017), and <i>Introduction to Chinese Cinema</i> (co-edited; Iwanami Shoten, 2025). She served as curator for a Lin Tuan-Chiu special screening series at the Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute (March 2025).
