Born in 1967 in Saitama Prefecture, where she
now resides, TOYOSHIMA Yasuko received
an MFA from the graduate school of Tokyo
University of the Arts. In her works, she
creates “models” which respond in a structural
way to systems of human thought. She
continually explores the modes of expression
involved with materials and systems in every
domain. TOYOSHIMA has had numerous
solo exhibitions and taken part in many
group exhibitions in venues including
Takanawa Museum (1990), Art Tower Mito
Contemporary Art Gallery (1997), Museum
of Contemporary Art Tokyo (2002, 2015),
and Fuchu Art Museum (2005, 2006).
