The “Dome Temple: Avyakta Chaitya” (Sanskrit terms meaning ‘unmanifest’ and ‘domed sacred space’) Exhibition, which ran from September to November 2023 at the Museum of Cosmic Consciousness at Fenberger House Dome run by Roger McDonald, travels to the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum. This exhibition brings together art works that depict various experiences of the invisible including the religious, the occult, astral dimensions, the unconscious and magic. The presentation asks us to reconsider how we engage with and comprehend art, as something that potentially moves beyond the domain of rationality and language. The exhibition offers an alternative experience of appreciating art, one in which we can free our consciousness and enjoy works that traverse cultures and history through “Deep Looking.” Workshops and talk events will be held throughout the exhibition period.

Dates: February 2 – 18, 2024, 10:00–20:00 (Until 18:00 on the final day)
Closed on Mondays [Please note the exhibition is open on Monday, February 12 but closed on Tuesday, February 13]
Venue: Tokyo Photographic Art Museum B1F Exhibition Gallery
