Museum of Chance (2013) is a book, an art object, an exhibition, and a catalog. Created from the idea that a book is a museum, the addition of a wooden frame for display on a wall transforms the book into a work to be appreciated, viewed, and read in various ways, rather than simply a collection of photographic reproductions. The work is shown together with Myself Mona Ahmed (1989-2000), a long-running series of photographs from the collection of the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum that portray eunuch Mona Ahmed, a member of the so-called “third gender” of India.
