TAKAHASHI Rin

Sculpture, 2023

Sculpture (2023), which was born from the “Emaki” drawing series in which Takahashi Rin depicts various moments she encounters and imagines on a daily basis, is a performative sculptural work taking the form of a podium on which one cannot stand alone, and which only reaches completion through collaboration with others. Takahashi, who says she is attracted to the awkwardness and uneasiness that people show in their interactions with others, will hold a program titled “Collaboration with Audience” during the festival, in which viewers can participate and attempt some of the moments selected from the “Emaki” series. With performing arts being another of her interests, Takahashi will search for hints about the future state of the world together with the participants through the compelling shift from action to choreography and the re-tuning of awkwardness into empathy.
