Futoshi MIYAGI
Born 1981 in Okinawa Prefecture, lives and works in Tokyo. Futoshi Miyagi graduated from the City University of New York in 2005. Major solo exhibitions include “American Boyfriend: Portraits and Banners” (Yutaka Kikutake Gallery, void +, Tokyo, 2022), “The Dreams That Have Faded” (CAI02, Sapporo, 2018), “How Many Nights” (Gallery Koyanagi, Tokyo, 2017), and “American Boyfriend: Bodies of Water” (Kyoto City University of Arts Gallery @KCUA, 2014). In “American Boyfriend,” a project started in 2012, Miyagi produces artworks, holds talk events, and organizes other activities themed around the possibility of an Okinawan man and an American man falling in love in Okinawa.
