Since 2014, film director Miyake Sho has used videos recorded on a smartphone to produce “movies belonging to no one,” publishing his daily recordings as Diary without Words. As an extension of this work, he has collaborated with YCAM to reconstruct for the Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions 2019 his first video installation, World Tour, which combines videos shot by some dozen videographers between August 2017 and March 2018. This exhibit will also include his first feature-length film Good for Nothing (Yakutatazu) along with his Diary without Words, the origin for this installation, to explore possibilities for a new video experience.
