Kawai Takumi was born in 1968 in Osaka, Japan/ Okamura Hiroki was born in 1968 in Kyoto, Japan. They formed Kawai+Okamura in 1993 when they were graduate students at Kyoto City University of Arts. Their first 3DCG animation, Mood Hall (2019) won the grand prize in the experimental film section at the 14th ANIMATOU International Animation Film Festival (2019, Switzerland).
