Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1960, Tsunoda first worked as an art director and then began pursuing his career as a fine artist in the mid- 2000s. His major group exhibitions include Chusho to Keitai; Dokomademo Arawarenai Mono (“Abstraction and Form: Things that Never Make Themselves Shown”) (Kawamura Memorial DIC Museum of Art, Chiba, 2012) and Yojigen o Sagashini Dali kara Gendai e (“From Dali to Today, In Search of the Fourth Dimension”) (Morohashi Museum of Modern Art, Fukushima, 2019).
