TAWADA Yuki

Born in 1978 in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, Japan. Tawada’s works exude images of transformed urban and mass collective unconsciousness, as well as transformation of individual awareness, by acting to erase (cut, burn, etc.) the photos she has taken. Full-time lecturer at Kyoto University of Art and Design. She has received Ph.D. from Tokyo University of the Arts, B.A. Photography from University of the Arts London and B.S. Agriculture from Tohoku University. Recent exhibitions include the solo exhibition Exorcism / Family Tree / Neuron Forest (G/P gallery, Tokyo, 2018), Light/Electricity/God: Thunderbolts and Art (Gunma Museum of Art, Tatebayashi, 2017), NEW PLANET PHOTO CITY: William Klein and Photographers Living in the 22nd Century (21_21 DESIGN SIGHT, Tokyo, 2018).
