Born in Tokyo in 1949. Graduated from Musashino Art University. Now lives in Tokyo, following a period of residence in New York. He has held numerous exhibitions both within Japan and overseas. Recent shows at which he has exhibited include “Night Scented Stock” (Marianne Boesky Gallery, New York, 2011); “ Image Forum Film Festival ” (Shinjuku Park Tower Hall, 2012); his solo exhibition “REPETITION” (Blueproject Foundation, Barcelona, 2014 / Olga Korper Gallery, Toronto, 2014); “Venice Meeting Point,” held during the opening of the 56th Venice Biennale (Navy Officer ’s Club, Venice, 2015); and “Call and Response ” (Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, Oregon, 2016).
