KANEMURA Osamu

Born 1964 in Tokyo. Photographer. While a student at the Tokyo College of Photography in 1992, he was invited to the Rotterdam Photo Festival in the Netherlands. Selected by MOMA for “New Photography 12” in 1996. Received New Photographer Prizes by the Photographic Society of Japan and at the 13th Higashikawa International Photo Festival in 1997, followed by the 19th Ken Domon prize in 2000 and the 39th Nobuo Ina prize in 2014. In addition to photo collections Spider’s Strategy (2001, Osiris) and Concrete Octopus (2017, Osiris), his books include Zenshinkairakusyashinka (The Progressing Pleasure Photographer) (2009, Doyukan) and A Histry of Photography that Provokes (2017, Heibonsha, in collaboration with Kenji Takazawa).
