Lives and works in Tokyo. Araki Yu received a BA in Sculpture from Washington University and an MA in Film and New Media Studies from Tokyo University of the Arts. In 2013, he participated in the Tacita Dean Workshop at La Fundación Botín, and his films have been screened at numerous festivals, including NIFF, BFI London Film Festival and International Short Film Festival Oberhausen. Recent exhibition and screening venues include Okayama Art Summit, Yokohama Museum of Art and Tate Modern.
