Born in 1980 in Yokohama (Kanagawa), and is
based in New York City (U.S.). She graduated
from the art department of Columbia
University Graduate School. SASAMOTO
studied mathematics, dance and fine arts,
and is known for creating improvisational
performances with her own body, words
and objects in her own carefully constructed
installation spaces. She participated in the
Whitney Biennial in 2010, the 9th Gwangju
Biennial in 2012, and Parasophia: Kyoto
International Festival of Contemporary Culture 2015.
