The second detailed information of the festival 2023 has been announced!

We are pleased to announce the participating artists and the programs at each exhibition venue with the general theme “Technology?,” as the second detailed information of Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions 2023.

The lineup includes works by artists who have discovered the possibilities of technology in each era, from the experiments of Jikken Kobo (Experimental Workshop), which opened a new era in postwar Japanese art, in which slides and sound tapes were projected synchronously, to Lu Yang, a multimedia artist from China who digitally reincarnates avatars in a virtual space using self CG.

A number of educational programs, off-site project, and partnership programs are also newly added. You can find such as an online program with sign language interpretation, an outdoor installation at Center Square of Yebisu Garden Place, a project to fully automate camera photography, and partnership programs in collaboration with local communities.
The exhibition will examine a wide variety of visual expression practices and consider the possibilities of dialogue between art and technology.

*More detailed information on screenings, events, and ticket sales will be announced in mid-January 2023.
