Born 1966 in Indonesia, based in the Netherlands. Over the past 25 years, her video installations, films and photographic works have gained international acclaim, and have been exhibited all over the world. In 2009, she represented the Netherlands at the Venice Biennial, and took part in the Architecture Biennial in Venice in 2010. She also presented her work at Documenta 11, Yokohama Triennale 2001, and other international biennials, and at solo exhibitions at the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York; Vancouver Artgallery; National Museum of Art, Osaka; Baltic, Gateshead; Museum für moderne Kunst, Frankfurt; Museum der Moderne Salzburg; and Eye Filmmuseum, Amsterdam.
