TANAKA Kazuhito

Born 1973 in Saitama, Japan. Artist. director of soda. After graduating from the School of Commerce at Meiji University and then working for a company, he moved to the U.S. and graduated from the School of Visual Arts (New York) in 2004. He explores new forms of expression through photography, focusing on the relationship between photography and painting, and has exhibited his work both in Japan and abroad. Currently based in Kyoto and Fukuoka. As director of the Kyoto-based artist-run space “soda,” he curates exhibitions in parallel with his career as an artist. he won the grand prize at the TOKYO FRONTLINE PHOTO AWARD. Recent solo exhibitions include “Picture(s)” (2022, KANA KAWANISHI GALLERY, Tokyo), “Picture(s)” (2022, Paris London Hong Kong, Chicago), “Self-Dual” (2019, Gallery PARC, Kyoto), GOLD SEES BLUE” (2018, Maki Fine Arts, Tokyo), “Trans / Real – The Potential of Intangible Art vol.7 Kazuhito Tanaka” (2017, gallery αM, Tokyo).
